Cafe Rustica - Carmel Valley

Cafe Rustica is located in Carmel Valley about 12 miles east of Carmel and offers indoor and outdoor seating.  A great excuse to drive out to the valley and escape the fog!  The innovative menu at this cozy cafe specializes in refreshingly modern and classic Californian cuisine with an European flair.  The service has always been consistent and attentive.  Don't be surprised if the owner or chef stops by your table to ensure you are enjoying your dining experience.  My favorite appetizers are the Crispy Calamari with chili aoli and the Fresh Steamed Clams.  A sample menu might include the Oven Roasted Pork Loin Medallions with mashed sweet potatoes and the Herb Roasted Half Chicken served with artichokes, au gratin potatoes and ratatouille.  The vegetables are always cooked to perfection.  If you order the half chicken, be sure to reserve one early from your waiter to ensure it does not get sold out before you order.  Room for desert?  Try the home made creme brulee.
