This beautiful coastal park is located on Highway 1, 6.7 miles south of Rio Rd. Garrapata features two miles of ocean front beach, rugged coastal views, spring wild flowers, and plenty of coastal hiking. Pick your choice of a leisurely coastal bluff trail, a moderate Canyon Trail, or a steep and strenuous 1400+ ft. climb on the Rocky Ridge trail. My favorite is the Rocky Ridge Trail which features panoramic views of the coast both north and south. If you wrap arount to the Canyon trail you'll also get views of Carmel Valley and Salinas on a clear day.
