Soberanes Point Rocky Ridge Trail

The trail head for the Rock Ridge Trail is located approximately 6.7 miles south of Rio Road (Carmel) on Highway One. This is a  favorite however, please keep in mind the skill level is strenuous for this hike. This strenuous hike features a steep trial with a 1200+ ft. elevation gain between Soberanes Canyon and Malpaso Canyon. Your reward is a sweeping ocean view and an abundance of the vibrant wild flowers blanket the hillside in the spring. There is a bench at approximately 1234 ft. elevation with a panoramic view of the coast. this 6+ mile trail eventually descends and connects to Canyon Ridge Trail with a 3 mile moderate hike back through a lush redwood forest, creek beds and cactus gardens.
