Mariscos Puerto Nuevo - Seaside CA

Mariscos Puerto Nuevo Mexican restaurant is one of those hidden secrets you don't want to give away.  I had an office within walking distance to Mariscos for nearly 7 years and frequented the establishment often.  This casual Mexican restuarant is located in an unpretentious neighborhood at 580 Broadway Avenue in Seaside CA.  Mariscos is known for their fresh seafood, large portions and great prices.  One of my favorite take out items is the Camoron (shrimp) Burrito.  This flavorful menu item off the a la cart menu is packed with large shrimp, beans, rice and a fresh onion, cilantro and tomato salsa.  However, order it without beans and rice you'll get the burrito packed with bountiful portions of shrimp and fresh salsa.  Also, the Shrimp cocktail is a must have.  It is a gigantic portion of fresh shrimp mixed in onion, tomato, avocado, cucumber, cilantro and served in a light cocktail sauce.  If you're a oyster fan, you can get a dozen fresh oyster for only $12.50.  My usual house favorite is the Enchilada entree ($10.25) which includes 3 delicious chicken, beef or cheese enchiladas served with rice, beans, salad and fresh guacamole.  And yes, you can add shrimp for $1.80.  I highly recommend Mariscos if you looking for 100% authentic Mexican cuisine in a casual and unassuming atmosphere.
