Puerta Vallarta Restaurant - Calistoga California

Puerta Vallarta Restaurant features traditional Mexican cuisine focused on fresh, flavorful ingredients.  This establishment is tucked away in the small town of Calistoga California (Napa County) down a cozy patio off Lincoln Street next to the Cal Market.  When we arrived for lunch at this casual eatery we were attentively seated by the host at a cozy outdoor table.  We had a late breakfast and I looking for something light to eat. I ended up ordering the quesadilla ($5.50) appetizer which was packed with melted jack cheese, large chunks of avocado and fresh tomato.  There was also a generous side of sour cream.  My wife ordered the house salad ($4.50) which was a bountiful portion of fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, avocado and radish.  However, they only had a tomato dressing which was a little bland.  The waiter was very accommodating and brought out a generous cup of Caesar dressing garnished with large chunks of fresh avocado.  Yummy!  Add a couple cold beverages and we were out of there for under $20.00 before tip.  For a small whole in the wall, the food and service was great and the prices were a bargain.  Can't wait to come back for dinner.

  1. Mexican dishes are in my favourite food list. I know a lot of gluten free restaurants Long Island that serves Mexican dishes.
